OUR PASTOR
Roderick Thomas is senior pastor of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. Roderick has a deep passion for developing leaders.
Roderick and his wife Carol have four children and live in Gadsden, Alabama where Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church began. He speaks at conferences and is a published playwright, and poet.
In June of 2012, Reverend Roderick Thomas was assigned as Pastor of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. He comes to this assignment with expectancy! Reverend Thomas is utterly committed to following the lead of GOD as GOD moves through Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. Members learned to forgive one another, work together, sing together, and worship together.
Determined to look beyond each other’s faults, the members learned to work out their differences in genuine love and support.
Reverend Thomas believes through much prayer God binds us together, and Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church will continue to be a loving and praying church, looking to God for direction, rather than looking to ourselves.
OUR CHURCH
At Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, our doors are wide open to people from all backgrounds, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. What people usually notice first about us is the loving nature of our ministry. Our goal is to infuse life and God’s love into people and families through engaging, powerful worship services that offer biblical truth in relevant and practical ways.
We’re striving to become the kind of church described in the Bible, where there’s relevant teaching, heart-felt worship, honest friendships, constant prayer, and compassionate care for those in need. In short, we’d like to have the kind of contagious Christianity that can influence and encourage the entire community, one life at a time.
